Did the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas Meet Our Expectations?

Crossovers being at the reign of the automotive product market, offer you a tremendous number of options. Both in terms of models, and in the scope for optimization. The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas being one of these options certainly had something special to offer its onlookers, that turned them into happy customers. So, we asked few of them at the Palmdale Volkswagen dealer, if the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas did meet their expectations. Apart from this, we also took a test drive with this crossover model from VW to cross check its credibility all by ourselves. What we experienced, made us share the same with you all.

Additional Features Installed for the Year 2021

We found at the first instance as soon as we saw the new Atlas that the 2021 model year release of the Volkswagen Atlas brought many changes to the entire lineup. Simultaneously, we did notice many buyers feeling that these changes were something they waited for. The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas gets not only a new face with a newly crafted front grille but also wears the crown of the new logo for Volkswagen. To match the makeover, the automaker also used new pairs of integrated headlights that contribute largely to the drive safety as well. The exterior also had other changes in its design elements, like the front and rear bumpers grow to 2.4 inches longer giving the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas an overall increase to its length. The result can be felt inside, where you get more legroom that was much required to withstand the journey of long hours.

Inside, of every 2021 Volkswagen Atlas we found a newly installed wireless charging pad located right below the center console. But that comes only if you order the option, since it is not included in the list of standard features.

The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas also becomes a safer vehicle to ride, since the automaker has enhanced its safety systems, for this year. The list also includes a wider array of driver assistance features such as automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control, that doesn’t allow the driver to commit any grave driving mistake that can cause threat to people’s lives. The engines are also enabled with stop-and-go feature to ensure it doesn’t consume more fuel when idling in the traffic queues. For features like lane-assist camera and a traffic-sign recognition system one needs to tick the optional boxes, that would cost some extra bucks.

Here we need to mention that each of the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas models are capable of towing a maximum weight of 5,000-pound. Then to make its towing functionality stable, Volkswagen offers with each of its models a dealer-fitted hitch. For this the automaker chose two engine variants to power all the trim models of the 2021 Atlas. It is either the 235-hp making four-cylinder one or a V-6 engine that can sprint out 276-hp. Both the engines get to pair only an eight-speed automatic transmission that carries the engine power either to the front- wheels or to all four of them.

Our test drive experience with the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas at the Palmdale VW dealer convinced us that it could offer more than what we expected.
