François Clemmons Sings A Joyous Farewell, TONIGHT

Francois "Divaman" Clemmons and Fred Rogers, on set of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood

After a 16 year career as singer, professor, conductor, artist in residence, and spiritual leader of Middlebury College, Francois Clemmons is singing his final concert before retirement tonight at 8pm in the Mahaney Center for the Arts Concert Hall.

For those of you who have been fortunate enough to have shared a friendship with Francois Clemmons or seen one of his previous performances, you will most certainly be at the concert tonight. If you have never been to one of his performances, this is not one to miss. His incredible voice and stage-presence are the perfect way to rejuvenate yourself from the grind of pre-finals and get ready for friday night and all that is happening later tonight. No one knows what the Divaman has in store until the show itself, and this one is looking to be entirely unique and unforgettably special. Oh, and he also won a grammy for opera and an emmy for Mr. Roger's Neighborhood. This dude can sing.

Midd Mayhem Concert Friday

MCAB‘s annual Midd Mayhem concert is this Friday, and it’s going to be awesome.  For those of you who made the mistake of missing Alpenglow’s show in Johnson this past Friday, you’ll have another chance to catch them on the Ross Patio along with headliners Kingsley FloodKingsley Flood is a six-piece alt-rock band out of Boston and DC with a sound sort of like the Lumineers meet Rubblebucket, or americana meets punk rock, or just footstomping folk rock with horns.  At least those were my impressions after a quick tour through their music, and I dug everything I heard.  It should be a great show, and will kick off the the pre-finals weekend with good vibes.

The concert will follow an all-campus picnic on the Proctor Terrace with music by the Midd jazz ensemble Sound Investment.  Alpenglow plays at 6:45, Kingsley Flood will follow.  MCAB has a bunch of other events scheduled throughout the week, so make sure to check the schedule at go/middmayhem.

When: Friday, May 10 6:45 PM
Where: Ross Patio
Cost: Freedom from finals stress
